Firouz Afrouz
President, founder and managing director of IDP Group
Firouz has over 50 years of development experience, of which more than 20 in the Caucasus and CIS countries.
Firouz received his Doctorate in Civil Engineering (Hydraulic) in 1961 from the Politecnico of Milan, a MSc in Economic Development from the American University in Washington DC and attended specialized courses in Water Resources Development at the University of California, Berkeley.

Firouz joined the World Bank in 1965 and carried out several missions in Asia and Latin America. He was seconded by the World Bank to the Government of Iran in 1968, as responsible for the preparation of the 5th Development Plan.

After a brief period in the private sector as manager of an Iranian private holding group of construction industries, he managed the projects financing department of a private development bank in Iran (Development and Investment Bank of Iran).

He was later nominated to head the Housing Organization of Iran, with responsibility to build social housing, develop construction industries and reconstruct earthquake stricken areas.

After founding the IDP Consulting Group in Italy in 1993, Firouz organized and managed technical assistance projects for financial institutions, including the World Bank, EBRD, Microfinance Institutions and NGOs. Under a technical assistance project funded by EBRD, he managed a team of specialists assisting Tajik banks to effect the transition from Soviet system banking to international and IFRS systems.

Firouz organized and directs the teams acting as the Local Fund Agent for the Global Fund (GF) in Tajikistan and Afghanistan.

Among Firouz’s experiences are the management of industrial and service companies in Iran, Italy, France and Switzerland; real estate development experience in Iran, Spain, France, Italy and Eastern Europe; university teaching and training in project preparation and evaluation.

Firouz speaks fluently English, French, Italian, Spanish, Farsi, Tajik, Dari, Turkish and moderately German.
Marco Corver
Director, International Audits

Marco Peter Alexander CorverMr. Corver  worked at big 4 audit companies. He gained a wide experience in performing multi-location audits, internal audits, due diligences and consultancy work in both well developed markets such as the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United States of America and Brazil as well as in developing countries and emerging markets such as the Ukraine, Moldova, Bosnia, Tajikistan and Suriname. In performing audit and consultancy services he gained significant experience in building relations with international organizations, amongst other the IMF, World Bank, IFC, EBRD, UNDP, EDF and ADB expanding his experience in the field of compliance, regulatory audits and development projects.   Marco has an outstanding education in auditing and accounting: he graduated as Master in Business Economics (drs.) from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam in 1996. He graduated as certified auditor in 1999 (RA) and obtained an executive MBA in Banking, Capital Markets and Investment Management from the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) in 2005. Marco is a member of the NIVRA (Dutch Institute of Certified Accountants) since 1999. Within NIVRA Marco is active as a licensed teacher to other certified accountants in the areas of audit legislation and methodology. Next to this he is a member of the NIVRA committee dealing with accounting rules in the Netherlands for banks and investment funds. Marco has been auditing Tajik banks, organizations and companies as engagement director for PricewaterhouseCoopers, from 1999 to 2006.

Soura Afrouz
Director, IDP SA
After graduating from the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University, Washington, DC, Soura attended a joint course in Real Estate offered by SDA Bocconi and Politecnico di Milano, where she received an MSc degree.

Soura has a strong background in multi sector activities. Her experience ranges from marketing to investment studies for fixed asset management companies, to due diligence for investment opportunities, market studies and site visits for property investments (Pramerica, AIG), to management of consultancy contracts (Centennial Group, a US firm based in Washington DC).

Soura has been involved with IDP Consulting Group since year 2008. Her responsibilities cover the preparation of proposals for international tenders, the preparation of feasibility studies for private sector projects to be financed by international organizations with IDP, investment studies in real estate projects and management of IDP’s trade finance activities.

Soura is fluent in English, French, Italian, Spanish, and speaks Farsi.
Zarina Fatkhullaeva
Manager - Audits and finance sector projects
Tajik power engineer by education and graduated from Tajik Commercial University in financial accounting and auditing, Zarina attended training courses “Go Audit” organized by PricewaterhouseCoopers in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
Zarina obtained ACCA advanced diploma in Accounting and Bussiness and is on her way to the Professional level certificate.

Zarina's professional experience cover:
-  long experience in auditing of banks, MFIs and microfinance NGOs;
-  performance of assessment studies of microfinance institutions;
-  monitoring of utilization of funds from donor countries.

Zarina is also experienced in the implementation of banking and accounting software in IFRS and Tajik accounting system; experienced in the organization and operation of company accounts in Tajik system as well as projects accounts for international credit lines in IFRS.

As Finance expert, Zarina is responsible for monitoring the financial and accounting systems and utilization of funds for the Global Fund projects in Tajikistan.

Before joining Finconsult Zarina was responsible for 2 years for the projects accounts, financial management and reporting for an EBRD credit line to a Tajik bank.
Zarina speaks fluent English, Tajik and Russian.
Mohammad Reza Ravaee
Director, International projects, Iran and Afghanistan
A lawyer and registered accountant, Reza specializes in the preparation of financial and accounting systems, financial management of private and state owned companies.

Upon joining IDP Consulting Group in year 2002, he gained a valuable experience in monitoring public institutions receiving international financing in his position as resident manager of the Monitoring Agent team to ARTF (Afghanistan Reconstruction Trust Fund) in Afghanistan for the World Bank. In this capacity Reza was the counterpart of the World Bank, managed a large team of international and local experts, communicated with local authorities, implemented the verification procedures and reported to headquarters and the World Bank.

Reza is also the Team leader of IDP Consulting Group’s assignment as the Local Fund Agent for the Global Fund (GF) in Afghanistan, where his responsibilities include the assessment of the capacities (financial, institutional, programmatic and monitoring) of the recipient organization (in the case of Afghanistan it is the Ministry of Public Health) and the regular review of progress and expenditures, together with advice and assistance.

Reza is also specialized in accounting and financial management. He held managerial positions with foreign joint-ventures.

Reza is presently the resident manager of the Group in Iran and Afghanistan. Reza speaks fluent English, Farsi, Dari and moderately Arabic and Turkish.
Ardavan Afrouz
General Manager, IDP SA
Ardavan graduated from the Saint-Louis University (Madrid Campus) in international Business. He held several short term responsibilities covering winter tourism development, organization of a modern art gallery, assistance to IDP management in trade finance operations and real estate development, investment studies in tourism projects.

Ardavan joined IDP Consulting Group in 2009 and is responsible for market development and new activities. He is presently based in Spain where he produces tourism oriented visual media.

Ardavan is fluent in English, French, Italian, Spanish, and speaks Farsi.

IDP Consulting Group’s policy in the countries where it operates is to hire young local professionals, develop their capacity and gradually reduce reliance on foreign experts. This policy is being successfully implemented in countries with difficult economic and political conditions. In Tajikistan and in Afghanistan IDP Consulting Group has been actively hiring and training qualified local professional staff, now performing at high quality level for the on-going projects of the Group. Most staff members are multilingual and have now several years of experience in auditing, accounting, financial monitoring, capacity assessment and evaluation and project implementation.

The core team of IDP Consulting Group is integrated by a number of dedicated international and local experts, which provide their services to the local teams for specific projects.
